JAMES S. BELL, JR. (B.A., Holy Cross College; M.A. University College, Dublin) is the owner of Whitestone Communications, a literary development agency. He previously served as executive editor at Moody Press (now Moody Publishers), director of religious publishing at Doubleday, and publisher at Bridge Publishing. James is the author of six books, including The Complete Idiot¿s Guide to the Bible, and has received cover credit for his work on more than 15 others. He currently lives in West Chicago with his wife, Margaret, and their four children.

The Daily Devotional Guide Needed!

A great day-to-day devotional for real Christians. Goes beyond the 'Daily Bread' and 'My Utmost For His Highest' daily devotional guides. It is a good 'next step' devotional; to sharpen the spine and get our armour ready for the challenges of the day. Good book on a great work.

Outstanding Daily Devotional

I could not agree more with the previous reviewers. I am now reading this priceless book for the second year. I plan on reading it at least once a year until I go to be with the Lord. Gurnall challenges his readers to examine their heart and lifestyle. He nails the importance of being fully armed to fight our own flesh, the world, and the Devil. Ephesians 6:10-20 has come alive for me in a way never before. All genuine believers need to read this book, especially because of the times we live in today. We must not let down our guard but remain fully armed at all times. For the Christian who wants to finish "the race" well and hear the words, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant", this is a must read.
